Bassett Memorial Library
Part of Wawona’s charm is the small town atmosphere. The community center, elementary school, post office and market, serve resident and visitor alike. Whether attending a community potluck to raise funds for the elementary school, spending an afternoon on the playground, or grabbing a few eggs at the little market, Wawona just has that unmistakable community feel.
The Wawona Library is at the center of its community. All who step into this charming library immediately get the feel of cozy comfort, solitude and peace. To curl up with a good book on one of the window seats overlooking a Yosemite seasonal creek is an experience you can’t find in any other library in the world!
The library is staffed by Mariposa County personnel. From Labor Day to Memorial Day the library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
