Join butterfly enthusiasts for a fun-filled day of counting and identifying alpine butterflies in the Tuolumne Meadows area. If you are interested, please register for the count by contacting Sarah Stock by this Friday night by calling 209-379-1435 or emailing sarah_stock@nps.gov.
We will meet Monday, July 30 at Lembert Dome parking lot at 8:30 am and finish the day at 5 pm; plan to bring lunch/water and wear sturdy hiking boots.
The Yosemite Alpine Butterfly Count is one of more than 450 butterfly counts in North America, coordinated by the North American Butterfly Association. The extensive number and geographic coverage of these counts provide valuable continent-wide data on status and trends of butterfly populations. (NPS)
