Press Play to view a live stream of Wawona Dome taken from The Redwoods In Yosemite.
Wawona Dome stands proudly over the small community of Wawona inside the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Its granite walls, visible here above the forest in the foreground, are home to several rock climbing routes, and the fastest animals on earth. Peregrine falcons can reach speeds of more than 200 miles per hour and frequently choose the quiet cliffs of Wawona Dome for a nesting site in spring. Peregrine populations have recovered significantly since the use of DDT was banned, but remain on California’s endangered species list, and are always a treat to see.
Checking out Wawona’s webcam is also a great way to get a feel for the current weather and conditions in this quiet corner of Yosemite, prior to your stay in a Redwoods In Yosemite vacation rental cabin.
